Run Kid Run This Is Who We Are
Review by Tisa from DC

I recently heard the song Sing To Me on ChristianRockRadio.com, and I thought it was so cool that I got the whole CD.  I think Run Kid Run's debut CD This Is Who We Are is one of the best CD's I've heard.  Not just because I love rock, but because all the songs have the most positive message and they are about having a Godly outlook on love.  You can't beat that!

I personally recommend this CD - not only as a rock freak, music freak, and Child of God, but as a teenager who's mom is always worried about me listening to music that uplifts my spirit.  This CD gets two thumbs up from me!

Family Force 5 Business Up Front, Party in the Back (Diamond Edition)
Review by Josh

Sometimes you need music that makes you smile.  Sometimes you need music that makes you think.  This incredible album from the Atlanta based Family Force 5 is the kind of music that makes you smile - mindlessly smile and dance!

Since opening this album, I have listened to very little else - because it is that much fun!  It provides a musical escape from reality - and a viewpoint of the gift of life that makes you want to dance ... and I was raised Southern Baptist ... we don't usually dance!  If you are looking for deeper lyrics and emotion filled worship songs - look elsewhere.  But if you want to rock out, jump around, and grin like an idiot ...

Silverchair Young Modern
Review by Josh

I enjoy the grandiose sound that Silverchair has adopted in the last 5 years.  Going from a grunge sound in the 1990s (i.e. Freak), the new sound out of Australia is fairly reminiscent of 1970s Beatles and John Lennon's later stuff.

Young Modern offers more of what Silverchair gave us in Diorama, though I find the new tracks more compact and would be willing to wager they really deliver when heard live.
The band adds the sweeping sounds of a full orchestra throughout the album making a rock-trio sound bigger and thicker than ever. respond: online@christianrockradio.com

Dead Poetic New Medicines
Review by Adam Perks
If I could write two reviews for this CD I would. One saying how awesome it is - and another saying how FLIPPIN' AWESOME IT IS! Brandon Rike has a superb voice and the songs on which his voice appear are superb too.
I'm absolutely in love with this CD (but I'm not going to marry it), and I suggest all fans of emo music - buy this CD. WOW!

Subseven Free to Conquer
Review by Adam Perks

Once again - they've done it! By "it" I mean continue to amaze me with their music. Subseven's lyrics are as true as ever and the guitar is supreme. When I found out that the band had a new album I bought it as soon as possible, without even questioning if it would be good (And I am seeking counseling on impulse buying).
There was no doubt in my mind that it wouldn't be as good as the first CD. I suggest "Free to Conquer" to anyone who loves good emotional music, or just music period.

Seventh Day Slumber Once Upon a Shattered Life
Review by Dave Rossing

A few days ago I slapped down my 14 bucks to pick up a copy of Seventh Day Slumber’s new album "Once Upon a Shattered Life." This new album should instantly appeal to fans of the band’s 2003 release. This round showcases a definite maturity in the band’s music writing abilities. There are lots of intelligently written heavy guitar riffs and delicate ones as well. This is aided in part by Aaron Sprinkle’s absolutely perfect producing (most of my CD collection pales in comparison to the production done here)!

The album does have some down sides. I noticed that the vocals on several songs follow a very similar rhythm or melody. It was like listening to the same song twice. The guitars have nearly the same chord progression on several tracks. You also won’t find anything on this album that you haven’t heard before.

What you will find however, are 10 songs of sonic perfection with a good balance of heavy and light tracks and very well written music. Probably the strongest element of this record is Joseph Rojas’ excellent voice and ministry focused lyrics. The songs point to Christ as the solution for the problems in our lives. All in all, I give "Once Upon a Shattered Life" 4 out of 5 (Fill-in-the-Blank)'s.

Falling Up Crashings
Review by Sheree' Tullos

I was shopping at [a] Christian book store one day and I ran across this album. I had never heard of the group before, so I took out the demo and began to listen. I was immediately impressed. I read more about the group and realized they were very young. I was amazed --they have such wisdom for young men.
The song "Broken Love" is about how God picks you up after a worldly relationship. The song "Jackson Five" was a great mix of hip hop and rock. I'm not sure what you would call it, but I was hooked after I heard it. Good stuff guys! If you have never heard this band from the Northwest, you should run down to your local Christian bookstore and check it out. These guys are definitely the "New Hope Generation."
